A short piece written in response to a query and request made by Andrew Blanchard, Filminc, in his research into alternative venues for non-mainstream/non-commercial screenings now that cinemas such as the Academy Twin in Sydney and the Valhalla in Melbourne no longer exist.
sue.k. argues that experimental film and video sits outside works that Blanchard refers to as Avant-garde and as such the possibility of the cinemas in question here showing experimental would have been unlikely or rare if they existed today.
